🌟Tarot & Astrology for Visionary Writers: 6-12 March 2023

πŸ’ƒπŸ½ This week we're invited squarely and strongly back into our bodies!

πŸ’Ž Strong Pisces energy might be calling us into higher visionary states - and typically we can feel a lot more comfortable here than in the physical world - but the Full Moon in Virgo and Saturn entering Pisces are inviting us to balance our visionary insight and intuition with firm boundaries for self-care and nurturing, as well as clear responsibility for the work we are here to do.

✍🏽 As writers, we may be used to spending long hours sitting at the desk - but is that really serving us? We've been taught in our Western education systems and our patriarchal capitalist society to dissociate from our bodies and identify mostly with our disembodied intellect. But this keeps us separate from ourselves, from kinship with others, and from the physical world we live in.

πŸͺ Saturn entering Pisces is a wake up call for us to come back to our physical selves, to nurture and nourish our bodies and our energy, and to create clear structures and boundaries that allow us to bring our visions into form in service of the collective.

🎴 Four of Pentacles also invites us into deeper self-love and self-care this week, as we navigate these strong energetic transitions through the tender and sensitive vessels of our own physical bodies. This includes tending to our own nervous system and turning away from the external demands of the world when we need to - or when we can - empowering us to show up with greater responsibility and integrity as creative visionaries who are here to passionately and powerfully co-create!

Sally-Shakti Willow

Writing my PhD in Utopian Poetics showed me what it means to be a writer. I wrote four books of poetry and a 50,000 word thesis, and I started journaling as a way to ground and heal myself.

While I was studying, I also wrote and maintained the Contemporary Small Press website, writing regular reviews of new fiction and poetry published by small presses. I was on the judging panel for the 2018 Republic of Consciousness Prize for literary fiction from the small presses. So I was reading a lot of great writing too. And I co-developed and taught a series of workshops called WELLBEING WHILE WRITING for doctoral researchers at the University of Westminster.

WELLBEING WHILE WRITING used practical techniques from Creative Writing pedagogy to support PhD students of all disciplines with the work of WRITING their thesis. I also used my knowledge and experience of yoga and meditation to provide MOVING & BREATHING FOR WELLBEING workshops to graduate students at the University.

I’ve been teaching English since 2004 and I’ve been teaching Creative Writing at the University of Westminster since 2017.
